Since the Jailbreak tool purplera1n is available, we’re able to jailbreak the new iPhone 3G S – later I’ll post a new Jailbreak method with redsn0w 0.8 from th DevTeam. But here the tutorial how to jailbreak it with your Mac and purplera1n:
Requirements
- iPhone 3G S
- purplera1in
- Intel Mac with iTunes 8.2
- Connect your iPhone with your Mac and close iTunes
- Start up purplera1n and press on “make it rain”, after the iPhone was recognize, the Jailbreak process will start.
- purplera1n shows now some infos like “waiting for phone” and “reboot”.
- After a while, your iPhone will reboot in the DFU Mode and shows a nice picture of Geohot.
- When your iPhone has rebooted the second time, you should have a new icon: Freeze – we need this to install Cydia.
- When Freeze sais, it’s finished with the installation of Cydia, shutdown your iPhone and start it again, now you should have also Cydia on your iPhone.
