*** Problems / any Notes?? Tell me everything at the Forum ***

A few weeks ago, PdaNet 1.52 was released and now PdaNet 1.53 is already released. It’s a minor bugfix releas which closes these problems:

  • Fixes access to http://my.iPhone on USB connection.
  • Fixes a critical memory leak.
  • Fixes a connection error caused by iTunes 8.2. Please also upgrade desktop client from http://junefabrics.com/desktop

Here the howto for the cracked PdaNet binary:

  1. Do an update of PdaNet via Cydia
  2. Download the cracked PdaNet 1.53 Binary
  3. Connect your iPhone over SCP (take WinSCP oder Cyberduck)
  4. Now overwrite the PdaNet Binary in Applications/PdaNet.app with the downloaded cracked one
  5. Important: Now set the filepermissions from the PdaNet Binary to 755 (rwxr-xr-x), otherwise the Wireless Router won’t be able to initialize at reboot.
  6. Now go to /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ and, if it exists, delete the file com.jft.pn.plist
  7. Now reboot your iPhone with Bossprefs or the normal switch… what you like.
  8. After it’s back online, PdaNet is already registred and ready for use.

Remember, if you like the software: buy it!

this crack works fine. pdanet should be a few bucks and i'd be happy to pay, but it's a bit buggy and overpriced by a factor of 10.

  9. Ac1dSt0rm says:

what do u mean by step 5?

Important: Now set the filepermissions from the PdaNet Binary to 755 (rwxr-xr-x), otherwise the Wireless Router won’t be able to initialize at reboot.

    where do i change that?

    16th June 2009 at 00:26

  10. Kilrathy says:

Remeber the binarie file you copied? You need to make a right click on the Binarie and choose "Properties" (if you use WinSCP), now you can change the file permissions to 0755.

  11. DrDeathNet says:

When I go to PDANet on my phone, it says "PdaNet WiFi Router need to be initialized first. Please restart your iPhone."

I have restarted a couple times and it keeps saying this and won't let me get into the SETTINGS part to switch it to USB. Any ideas?

    16th June 2009 at 19:50

  12. Kilrathy says:

Did you set the file permissions to 0755? You need this to do, otherwise PdaNet won't initialise the WiFi Router at boot up.

It’s working as per the instructions provided.
    It’s up n running with iPhone 3.0 on 2G.

  18. Kilrathy says:

  22. DK10016 says:

It says I'm registered and everything, but if I go to my.iphone in my Firefox browser, it says I have 13 days left. I'm using the USB method, because the Wifi one always connects/disconnects constantly. Now I know the 1.53 update says, "Fixes access to http://my.iPhone on USB connection", so that's probably my problem.. I'll try Wifi again. I just thought my.iPhone worked with USB =/ (help?) Thanks!

  29. waqar says:

    Hello,
I am unable to do it, because I cannot find file named ''pdanet_1.5.3.deb'' in the Applications/PdaNet.app directory
I have only one file resembling this and that is ''PdaNet'' which is application file. When I paste the downloaded file, it does not replace the existing file
and a new file with ''pdanet_1.5.3.deb'' is added in the directory.
Rest of the steps I am doing fine.
Can any body help me regarding this.

My e-mail is wikki77 [at] gmail [dot] com

Install pdanet, download the crack from here, replace the pdanet binarie on your iphone with the downloaded cracked one!

  39. Sascha says:

tnx it worked great. I would have bought if it wasn't overpriced in my opinion. :)

    16th June 2009 at 06:16

  40. jack says:

Worked well. Posting absolute directories might have made it more understandable though. Also, I would buy it, but it's really expensive, especially considering that there are other programs that do the same thing, and it's reliability being based on the jailbreak. When the price comes down, I'll buy. Thanks!

    16th June 2009 at 08:26

  41. Jack says:

Also, filezilla works well for this. just enter sftp://{iphone ip here} | {username} | {password} | {port, leave blank} in the quickconnect bar

    16th June 2009 at 02:04

  48. Kilrathy says:

Mhm… did you deinstalled pdanet first? when pdanet cannot initialize the router it looks like there are some troubles with the permissions.

try this: remove pdanet! via cydia or by hand over ssh. then install it new (even try the 1.60 version on my page). also when this problem flapps…. could also be a problem on your ipod.
